Westminster is located in northeast Johnson City, Tennessee, at 2343 Knob Creek Road, about a quarter mile off State of Franklin Road, and on the hill just above the Crossings Shopping Center. Westminster Presbyterian Church is a congregation that was founded in 1983, out of the concern by many people to be a part of a church that is committed to: 1) the Bible as the infallible, authoritative Word of God, 2) the historic theological convictions of the Reformed tradition as a faithful understanding of the truth of the Bible, and 3) the mission of the Great Commission to take the Gospel to all nations and to make disciples of all nations for Christ. Early in its history the congregation united with the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), a denomination that shares these convictions. A few years ago the Session of Elders adopted the following purpose statement: “The Purpose of Westminster Presbyterian Church is to glorify God and expand His kingdom by being a grace-oriented Reformed body that believes the Word of God is inerrant and all sufficient for every area of life and that holds fast to the standards of the Westminster Confession of Faith.”

In 1987 the initial phase of the church facility was constructed. An additional wing for nursery and classroom space was completed in the late 1990s. The congregation has grown over the 25 years of its history to around 375 communicant members, with a good mix of all ages.

The basic schedule of church services and activities is as follows:
Sunday Morning Worship: 8:40 am and 10:50 am
Sunday School for all ages: 9:50 am
Sunday Evening Worship: 6:00 pm
Wednesday Evening Fellowship Supper: 5:45 pm
Wednesday Evening Pioneer Clubs; Youth Large Group Meeting;
Prayer Meeting; Bible Studies; and Choir Practice 6:30 pm
